Das erste offene Labor für die Entwicklung von High-Tech Textilien in Deutschland. Eine Plattform zur Förderung von
Open-Innovation und Vernetzung zwischen Forschung, Design und Industrie.
Das Textile Prototyping Lab ist das erste offene Labor für High-tech Textilien in Deutschland und bietet durch eine breite Prototyping-Infrastruktur und ein kompetentes, interdisziplinäres Team die Möglichkeit zur Umsetzung komplexer Textilprojekte.
Gegründet als Forschungsvorhaben von fünf Organisationen aus dem Bereich Textil- und Elektronikforschung, Design und Wirtschaft möchte das Textile Prototyping Lab ein offener, agiler und interdisziplinärer Ort für textiles Prototyping sein mit dem Kernthema Open Innovation. Während der Projektlaufzeit wurden Prozessketten und Tools, wie ein E-Textiles Baukasten, eine Materialbibliothek und eine Prozessmanagementsoftware entwickelt und im Rahmen von zahlreichen Pilotprojekten getestet. Ziel des Vorhabens ist die Entwicklung eines geeigneten Betreibermodells und somit die nachhaltige und langfristige Installation des Angebots.
Mit der Initiierung des Forschungsvorhabens haben sich die Gründungspartner des Textile Prototyping Lab das Ziel gesetzt, unterschiedlichsten Zielgruppen die Möglichkeit zur Umsetzung einfacher und komplexer Textilprojekte zu geben. Das TPL ist offen für alle Projektanfragen die das Thema Textilien betreffen und bieten von der Beratung über Ideation, Produktentwicklung, physisches Prototyping mit unterschiedlichsten Technologien bis hin zum Testen der Entwicklungen ein breites Angebot. Durch das Teilen von Wissen und Ressourcen und ein interdisziplinäres Team können die unterschiedlichsten Projekte realisiert und Akteure über die Grenzen der Textilbranche hinaus vernetzt werden.

The Textile Prototyping Lab is the first open laboratory for high-tech textiles in Germany and offers the possibility to implement complex textile projects through a broad prototyping infrastructure and a competent, interdisciplinary team. Founded as a research project by five organisations from the fields of textile and electronics research, design and business, the Textile Prototyping Lab aims to be an open, agile and interdisciplinary place for textile prototyping with the core theme of open innovation. During the project, process chains and tools such as an e-textiles toolkit, a material library and a process management software were developed and tested in numerous pilot projects. The aim of the project is the development of a suitable business model and thus the sustainable and long-term installation of the offer.
With the initiation of the research project, the founding partners of the Textile Prototyping Lab have set themselves the goal of giving the most diverse target groups the opportunity to implement simple and complex textile projects. The TPL is open to all project enquiries concerning textiles and offers a wide range of services from consulting to ideation, product development, physical prototyping with various technologies and testing of the developments. Through the sharing of knowledge and resources and an interdisciplinary team, a wide variety of projects can be realised and actors can be networked beyond the borders of the textile industry.
