  • Sub Tilia, which means “Under the Lime Tree”, explores the importance of human-place bonds in a globalized world with increasing mobile place experiences. The Lime Tree—a constructed geographical landmark, place for gatherings and the community, symbol of rooting, belonging and homeland, deeply rooted in many European cultures—can show new ways to (re-)activate the urban fabric of the inbetween, to foster a terrestrial sense of place and to create a caring culture beyond a particular glocality. As such, the symbolic catalogue of the Lime Tree serves as a narrative for the journey of young adults to a sense of self and place in an ever-changing Europe.
