DEADLOCK / Bedeutung: Stillstand, Blockade, Sackgasse
Der Titel beschreibt in all seinen Übersetzungsvariationen den Zustand der Kulturbranche seit Anbeginn der Pandemie. Die geschlossenen Türen von Club - und Kultureinrichtungen bei Nacht versperren nicht nur den Zugang zu hedonistischen Parties, sondern erklären uns auch, dass der Zugang zu Kunst und Kultur keine Selbstverständlichkeit ist. Wo sonst das Leben pulsiert ist jetzt Stille, wo sonst Freude und Ausgelassenheit herrscht, ist nun Demut. In dieser Bildreihe dokumentiere ich eine kleine Anzahl von Berliner Clubs bei Nacht und versuche, diese Stimmung einzufangen.

DEADLOCK / Meaning: standstill, blockade, impasse
The title describes in all its translation variations the state of the cultural scene since the beginning of the pandemic. The closed doors of clubs and cultural institutions at night not only block access to hedonistic parties, but also explain to us that access to art and culture is not a matter of course. Where otherwise life pulsates is now quiet, where otherwise joy and exuberance reigns, there is now humility. In this series of pictures, I document a small number of Berlin clubs at night and try to capture this atmosphere.
