Im Grunde ist die Üble Sache ungefähr das. Allem in dir ist übel, alles ist verzerrt. Und da du nur durch Teile deiner selbst – deine Sinnesorgane, dein Gehirn usw. – Bekanntschaft mit der Außenwelt schließt, und da allen diesen Teilen kotzübel ist, erreicht die Welt, wie du sie wahrnimmst und kennst und in ihr bist, dich nur durch diesen Filter der Übelkeit, und auch ihr wird übel. Allem in dir wird übel, und alles Gute verschwindet aus der Welt wie die Luft aus einem kaputten Luftballon. In der Welt, wie du sie kennst, gibt es nur noch scheußlichen Gestank, traurige, verzerrte und entsetzliche Pastellbilder, scheppernde oder todtraurige Geräusche, unerträglich andauernde Situationen, die zu einem Kontinuum aufgefädelt werden, das einfach kein Ende nimmt ... Unvorstellbar dämliche und hoffnungslose Ideen.

D. F. Wallace schreibt im Buch „Der Planet Trillaphon im Verhältnis zur üblen Sache“ über Depressionen. Eigentlich über seine Depressionen. Er legte seine persönliche Krankheit offen und schuf damit die Literatur.
Seit mehr als einem halben Jahr befinden wir uns im Covid-19 Gestirn. Der permanente Ausnahmezustand im Alltag hinterlässt tiefe Spuren hinter und spaltet unsere Gesellschaft. Es fehlt an Kultur, Berührung und Begegnungen. Wirtschaftliche Krisen, Meinungsverschiedenheiten, Demonstrationen gegen und Verschwörungstheorien um Corona, Fremdenfeindlichkeit... überall ist der Aufruhr spürbar. Es gibt Kämpfe gegen die Pandemie und Kämpfe um die Würde. Wir leben mit dem Virus und lernen vom Virus über uns und über die anderen. Das Virus, sagt Derrida, ist stets der Fremde, der Andere, der Ausländer.
In unserem Semesterprojekt werden die Geschichten aus der Black Box Virus gezeichnet, die in einem persönlichen oder soziopolitischen Zusammenhang stehen. Wir suchen die Üble Sache in unserem Umfeld, die aus dem Trauma und aus der gegenwärtigen politischen Situation, aus der Krankheit, also aus all dem, was uns übel macht, entsteht und uns hilflos macht, hilflos und nachdenklich.
Die üblen Sachen werden reproduziert, materialisiert, intensiviert und ausgedehnt, Depression, Trauma, Pandemie, Apartheit, Diskriminierung, Verfolgung, Krieg etc. Wir werden von der abscheulichen Sache inspiriert und kreieren eine Graphic Novel aus den Immunfantasien der eigenen munter machenden Geschichte.

For more than half a year we have been in the Covid-19 star. The permanent state of emergency in everyday life leaves deep traces and divides our society. There is a lack of culture, touch and encounters. Economic crises, disagreements, demonstrations against and conspiracy theories about Corona, xenophobia.... everywhere the turmoil is palpable. There are struggles against the pandemic and struggles for dignity. We live with the virus and learn from the virus about ourselves and about others. The virus, says Derrida, is always the stranger, the other, the foreigner.
In our semester project, we draw the stories from the black box virus that have a personal or socio-political context. We are looking for the nasty thing in our environment, which arises from the trauma and from the current political situation, from the disease, that is, from all that makes us nasty and makes us helpless, helpless and thoughtful.
The evil things are reproduced, materialized, intensified and extended, depression, trauma, pandemic, apartheid, discrimination, persecution, war, etc. We are inspired by the heinous stuff and create a graphic novel from the immune fantasies of our own chipper history.
