Lunatic Games: A Journey to the Archives of a Multispecies Feminist Society – Semesterprojekt 2021
Fuck patriarchy – but then what? Wasn’t there people living in matriarchal cultures already thousands of years ago? How about more inclusive feminist societies? Shouldn’t we not only re-thing the binary but also include non-human living beings in our actions and thinking, so that we can survive in this world in the future?
Lunatic Games describes a personal virtual journey of research divided in three chapters: A moon ritual in Sardinia 1021 before common era, a sleepless night in front of the computer in the year 2021, and a speculative future inspired by Donna Haraway taking place in 3021. As a feminist and historian of natural science, Donna Haraway seems to formulate the initial questions most consistently and radically, by playing with the idea of genetically mixed up species, including humans. And perhaps it is precisely these lunatic games that we need to keep moving forward.
