ROTE BUCHSTABEN TEIL 2 / RED LETTERS PART 2, 2021
In einer Fortführung der Arbeit ‘128’, will die Künstlerin Susanne Weber-Lehrfeld den Betrachter nun dazu einladen aktiv mitzumachen und in Dialog mit ihr und dem Werk zu treten. Die im Rahmen des Projektes ‘Prelude’ an der Kunsthochschule Weißensee entstandene Installation und Performance in der Öffentlichkeit wird hier auf den Innenraum verlagert und zielt gleichsam auf den ‘Innenraum’ des Betrachters ab. Der Zuschauer wird hier mit ähnlichen Bedingungen konfrontiert, wie die Künstlerin selber während der öffentlichen Performances und es entsteht dadurch eine Intimität und neue Dimension in der Rezeption und Wirkung.
In dieser neuen Installation sind die Buchstaben an den Wänden des Raumes (ca. 4,70m x 3,60m) angebracht und geben dem Betrachter durch die geringe Entfernung die Gelegenheit näher auf den Inhalt des Textes einzugehen. Die Künstlerin selber erscheint als skulpturale Form in rotem Gewand. Sie greift die rote Farbe der Buchstaben nochmal auf und verleiht der Farbe eine Fortsetzung in lebendiger Form. Musik breitet sich hier im Raum aus und schließt den Betrachter mit ein.Auf einer roten Konsole an der Wand liegt ein rotes Buch. Der Zuschauer ist eingeladen seine Gedanken bei der Erfahrung des Textes in Kombination mit der Musik und dem Sein im Raum mit der statischen Figur in dieses Buch zu schreiben.

As a continuation of her previous work ‘128’ the artist Susanne Weber-Lehrfeld wants to invite the viewer to actively participate and form a dialogue with her as well as her work. The installation and performance that was developed as part of the project ‘Prelude’ at the Kunsthochschule Weißensee, has been relocated indoors and aims to reach the spectators interior as well. The viewer is confronted with similar conditions as the artist herself during the public performances which creates a kind of intimacy and new dimension in the reception and effect.
In this new installation the letters from the first performance are mounted on the walls of the room itself and give the viewer the opportunity to take up the content more directly owing to the short distance to the text. The artist herself appears as a static form in red dress and picks up the colour red in the letters giving the theme a lively presence. Music expands into the space and envelops the viewer. On a console that is fixed onto the wall lies a red blank book. The viewer is invited write to down the thoughts that arise during the contemplating of the text in combination with the music as well as being in the space with the sculptural presence into this book.
