Jongno, vielseitig, 2021
Dieses Pop-up-Buch ist das Ergebnis meines Experiments, in dem ich es ausprobiert habe, meine Zeichnungen in plastische Formen zu verwandeln. Ich wollte eine neue Möglichkeit des Zeichnens erkunden, indem ich meine Bilder aus der flachen Oberfläche nehme. Mit dem Wort „vielseitig“ wollte ich zwei verschiedene Bedeutungen vermitteln. Eine davon bezieht sich auf vielen Seiten der Pop-up Struktur, und die andere verweist auf die vielfältigen Gesichter von Jongno, ein Stadtteil in Seoul, Südkorea. Jongno liegt im Zentrum von Seoul und ist ein komplexes Gebiet, in dem sich Tradition und Moderne vermischen. Für dieses Buch habe ich verschiedene Vierteln in Jongno recherchiert und illustriert.
This pop-up book is the result of my experiment in which I tried to transform my drawings into plastic forms. I wanted to explore a new way of drawing by taking my pictures off the flat surface. With the word “vielseitig” (many-sided) I wanted to convey two different meanings. One of them refers to many sides of the pop-up structure and the other relates to the diverse faces of Jongno, a district in Seoul, South Korea. Located in central Seoul, Jongno is a complex area where it shows a mixture of tradition and modernity. For this book, I made researches and illustrations of various neighborhoods in Jongno.
